He was the last tortoise available and had been subjected to pet store foods since birth. Notice the pyramiding shell. When a tortoise does not have the proper diet at an early age pyramiding can or will occur. Luckily we rescued Bumpy from his hell of malnutrition and brought him back to excellent health. We had a helluva time getting Bumpy to eat the natural foods in his diet. The only thing he would eat besides the pet store food was fresh romaine lettuce. From there we could mix the lettuce with the pet store food,cucumbers and various grasses.
